Bloody Church

This picture was taken at Caen in l'Abbaye aux Dames.
The church was built as a peace-offering by Mathilde, wife of William the Conquerer.

The history of William, being the most recent conquerer of England, is rather violent. It is as if this church is a silent witness of that era.
